Chiefly memoirs dealing with Semenov-Ti︠a︡nʹ-Shanskiĭ's ancestors, including his father, Petr Petrovich-Ti︠a︡nʹ-Shanskiĭ, a well-known scientist, explorer, and humanitarian reformer, the social and political life in Russia during the second half of the 19th century, and his public life as an emigré; together with correspondence, mss. of writings, subject files on Russian emigré organizations in Finland, photos, booklets, clippings, and other papers. Correspondents include Ivan and Vera Bunin, Ivan A. Goncharov, Marc Slonim, and Petr Struve.
